Sognefjord Akvarium has an indoor areal that covers 700 m2. Here you can find 24 different aquariums, an exhibition of planktons, a model of the Esefjord, a little cinema and the gallery Munken – 50 tables of wooden carving that illustrates the history of Balestrand.

Sognefjord aquarium provides a base for Kringsja outdoor school. During the spring and autumn, schoolchildren from all over the country come to stay here for one week, in order to study life in the Sognefjord. Almost all of the fish, animals and plants that you see here,  have been caught by schoolchildren who have visited Kringså. Our aquarium shows what may be found in the vicinity,  from the shoreline, down into the depths of the main fjord
